Meet The Writers

Meet the regular contributors of Soccer On Dish:

Ian Cahir is a Mexican-Irish fan of Ryan Giggs who dreams of European football from the plains of Kansas. He spent 13 years in newspapers as an editor, designer, writer and soccer wonk — for all the good it did him. He plays left midfield on his beer league team, he coaches two sides of rugrats, and he watches just too much Sentana Sports. His greatest soccer memory was watching France defeat Brazil 2–0 from the south end of the Rose Bowl with 100,000 of his closest friends at the 1984 Summer Olympics.

The Gaffer, founder of Soccer On Dish, has been following football/soccer for more than 30 years. Born in Wales, he is a former journalist who now lives in Florida and spends his time analyzing the influence of soccer worldwide. His writing credentials include The Palm Beach Post, Palm Beach Illustrated, South Florida Sun-Sentinel and the now defunct Matchday Magazine.
